By performing tank soundings on both the supplier barge and the receiving vessel before and after delivery, the surveyor ensures an accurate measurement of the transfer. A Bunker Quantity Survey (BQS) is a quantitative assessment of fuel oil delivered from a supplier barge to a vessel. The process involves taking physical soundings of all relevant tanks on both the barge and the receiving vessel before and after the bunkering operation to determine the exact volume transferred. Please note: This specific service includes the collection of representative fuel samples.
Bunker Surveys (ROB) is conducted to determine the quantity of HFO and MGO remaining on board a vessel, at a given time by sounding the bunker tanks.
An On-Hire (ONLY) Bunker is conducted to determine the exact quantity of HFO and MGO remaining on board at the time of delivery. This survey is performed when the Owners deliver the vessel to the Charterers, establishing fuel levels through the physical sounding of all bunker tanks delivery the vessel to the Charterers by sounding the bunker tanks.
An Off-Hire (ONLY) Bunker is conducted to determine the exact quantity of HFO and MGO remaining on board at the time of re-delivery. This survey is performed when the Charterers re-deliver the vessel to the Owners at the end of the charter period, establishing final fuel levels through the physical sounding of all bunker tanks.
An On-Hire B&C Survey is conducted to determine the exact quantity of HFO and MGO remaining on board and the vessel´s Condition at the time of delivery. The Bunker quantities are determined by a physical sounding of all bunker tanks and the vessel’s Condition is conducted by a detailed visual inspection of cargo Holds, hatch covers, deck areas and hull. This survey is performed when the Owners DELIVER the vessel to the Charterers.
An Off-Hire B&C Survey is conducted to determine the exact quantity of HFO and MGO remaining on board and the vessel´s Condition at the time of re-delivery. The Bunker quantities are determined by a physical sounding of all bunker tanks and the vessel’s Condition is conducted by a detailed visual inspection of cargo Holds, hatch covers, deck areas and hull. This survey is performed when Charterers RE-DELIVER the vessel to the Owners.

Hold Inspection is a visual inspection carried out at a given time to determine the ACTUAL Condition of the Holds, in order to identify any damages found at the time of the Survey.
Visual inspection to determine the cleanliness grade of holds.
Draft Survey is a quantitative examination of Cargo remaining on board a vessel at a given time by reading the vessel’s Drafts.
Ultrasonic survey for weather tightness of the hatch covers and any other deck openings into the cargo spaces.
Determine the quantity of Fuel Oil and Diesel Oil remaining on board a vessel by sounding the bunker tanks and calculating the bunker mass on board.

Condition Survey is a visual inspection carried out at a given time to determine the ACTUAL Condition of the vessel, including Holds, Main Deck, Cargo Working Areas, Cargo Gear, Accommodations, Hull, Engine Room and Certificates in order to identify any damages found at the time of the Survey.
B&C stands for Bunker and Condition. This survey is a Bunker Survey (ROB) and a Condition Survey carried out at the Time of Charterer On-Hire, when the Owners DELIVER the vessel to the Charterers.

Advisory Survey – Holds Cleaning is the visual Hold Inspection carried out at a given time to determine the ACTUAL grade of cleaning and advise who is carrying out the cleaning of the holds, Crew or Shore Cleaning Gang, WHAT should be done to achieve the desired GRAIN CLEAN Holds Condition in order to be approved by Shippers Surveyors.
Hold Cleaning by Shore Gang is a cleaning service carried out in the vessels Holds to achieve the GRAIN CLEAN Holds Condition by a Hold Cleaning Shore Company on No Cure No Pay basis. The Service ends when the holds are approved by Shippers’ Surveyors.
